Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015)- Desperate times, desperate measures.

Genre : Action Adventure Thriller

Running time : 131 minutes

Director:   Christopher McQuarrie

Stars : Tom Cruise Rebecca Ferguson Jeremy Renner Simon Pegg

This is the 5th installment of the franchise that almost spanning over 20 years and I must say a new look is as good as any. Like most 2nd, 3rd & 4th sequels it’s a hard act to follow but I think in this case it was a doddle.

Partially because of the new faces, one of them is being Rebecca Ferguson who plays an undercover agent. She manages to seduce her way between the evil and the better good in order to survive.

Tom Cruise who plays the character Ethan Hunt does it with sophistication and calculation. The character has developed and has the strength to go on further. The love interest between the two is left to the imagination if you wish to explore yours then do so. I decided I did not want to because then it would just be another ‘Hero gets the girl/007’ typical movie.

I must, say regardless of the story line a new era has begun with the new formation of IMF team with the return of Vine Rhames (Luther) who was missing in the last two MI, Jeremy Renner (William Brandt) who’s character works well with Luther and then we have our very own British comic actor Simon Pegg (Benji) who adds humour to the movie in fact a lot of humour. Finally we have Alec Baldwin (Alan Hunley) who without realising it joins the IMF.

A great plot, plenty of action dips in an out what you might think is the end? Had me guessing all the way through. I look forward to Mission Impossible 6 in the summer of 2017. You may ask how do I know and as they say ‘I can neither confirm nor deny any specific action without the Secretary’s approval.’

A must watch over the summer hols you won’t regret it!
